02 / Why people come here

You've done the research.
You still don't have a protocol you trust.

Most people who reach out have been at this for months. Not lack of effort - lack of the right structure. That's what coaching fixes.

Rather check the fit yourself first? The course-versus-coaching comparison is further down, prices included.

A vacuum bell sealed against the chest during a timed session
Bell seated, seal checked
A rib flare brace fitted and tensioned around the lower ribs during training
Brace tensioned to the rib angle
Close view of a chest under a vacuum bell, showing the sternal depression
Depth measured, not eyeballed

What correctly-dosed application actually looks like.

Cost of delay

Every month on the wrong approach is a month of results you don't get back.

The sooner the protocol is right, the sooner the correction starts.

Six months guessing Six months under a protocol
What people say in the first message
Hours of YouTube
You've watched everything on vacuum bells and braces and still don't know if you're doing it right.
Progress stopped
You saw results early, then the chest stopped moving and nothing you changed restarted it.
Equipment in a drawer
You bought the bell or the brace, but it sits unused because you don't trust the protocol around it.
Every forum disagrees
Six threads, six answers, and no way to tell which one is actually evidence-based.
Months on the line
You can feel the time going and you're not sure the approach was ever going to work.
Guessed at by a generalist
You want someone who has corrected this condition, not a physio meeting it for the first time.
03 / The Method

Why a chest can change shape
at any age.

Your chest wall is cartilage, not solid bone. Cartilage remodels under consistent, correctly-dosed pressure - that's the entire mechanism, and it's why surgery isn't the only option.

It's cartilage, not bone
Your sternum sits on flexible cartilage, not solid bone. Under sustained, correctly-dosed pressure it remodels - the same principle braces use on teeth.
Pressure in the right direction
A vacuum bell pulls a sunken chest outward. A brace presses a ridge or flared ribs flat. Session by session, the tissue adapts to the new shape.
Age changes the timeline, not the answer
Younger cartilage moves faster, but adult correction is documented - Greg above started at 52. The protocol adjusts to your age. The mechanism doesn't.
Dose is everything
Wrong suction, wrong hours, wrong exercise pairing - that's why generic YouTube protocols plateau. The pressure has to match your chest, and change as your chest changes.

The full proof, measurements included, is further down the page ↓

04 / How I Read A Case

Before anything gets built,
your chest gets read.

Five reads, in this order. Each one narrows what the next has to decide - which is why equipment is the last question I answer, not the first.

01
Depth, from photographs
Front, side and downward-angle photos against a plain wall, taken at full exhale. From those I estimate the Haller index and put your chest in a severity band. It is an estimate, not a CT - but it is accurate enough to size equipment and set a realistic timeline, and I tell you when a scan would genuinely change the plan.
02
Which deformity is driving it
Most chests are not purely one thing. A sunken sternum with flared lower ribs behaves differently from a symmetric depression, and a carinatum ridge with rotation behaves differently again. What is driving the shape decides whether pressure needs to pull, press, or both.
03
How pliable the cartilage still is
Age is the first read, but not the only one - chest wall flexibility, how far the shape shifts between full inhale and full exhale, and whether the ribs move as a unit. That is what sets session length and how fast the pressure can climb.
04
What the last attempt actually failed at
Almost everyone arrives having tried something. I want to know the suction level, the hours, the positioning, and what you paired it with - because a plateau nearly always traces to one of those four, and finding it is faster than starting over.
05
Bell, brace, or neither
Only now does equipment get decided. Some cases need a vacuum bell, some a brace, and a genuine few need neither - breathing mechanics, posture and loading are enough. I would rather tell you that than sell you hardware you do not need.

All five happen from your intake form and photos, inside the first 48 hours. You don't need a diagnosis, a scan, or any equipment to start - that's the part I do.

05 / Who you're working with

11+ years. 1,000+ cases.
I build the equipment myself.

I have pectus excavatum. I was diagnosed at 15 and told the same thing most people get told - wait and see, and if it gets worse, surgery. That wasn't an answer I was willing to take, so I went looking for another one.

What I found was fragmented. A clinical paper here, a forum thread there, a YouTube video contradicting both. Nobody had assembled it into something you could actually follow. So I did it on myself first - bought a vacuum bell, built a breathing and exercise protocol out of the evidence I could find, and measured everything. Over months, my chest changed. Not gone, but measurably, visibly different, and the rib flare that came with it went too.

I founded mrpectus in 2015 to build the thing I'd needed at 15. A decade later that's over 1,000 cases across pectus excavatum, carinatum and rib flare, ages 13 to 52, worldwide - every one of them read by me, not passed to a support team.

I also design and build the vacuum bells and braces. That matters more than it sounds: when I tell you which size to use, what suction to run, and how to sit it on your sternum, I'm describing hardware I've built and tested, not a product I resell. Nothing gets ordered from a size chart.

I'm not a doctor and I don't pretend to be - everything clinical on this site is reviewed by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yuksel, MD, a cardiothoracic surgeon. What I am is the person who went through this from the inside, built a structured method out of it, and has now run it a thousand times. And I keep the client list small on purpose. Attention is the product.

06 / What's Included

Everything you need.
Nothing you don't.

Nine things, built around your case from day one, not a template with your name on it.

01
Case assessment & baseline
Haller index estimation, severity classification, and baseline measurements from your photos. I know exactly where you're starting from before we build anything.
02
Full custom protocol
Written specifically for your case - vacuum bell session structure, brace wear schedule, breathing sequence, exercise pairing, and daily schedule. Not a template with your name on it.
03
Equipment fitted & shipped
If your protocol includes a vacuum bell or rib flare brace, I build it to your exact chest dimensions. Setup call included. You don't guess at sizing.
04
Weight-gain nutrition plan
Most of us with pectus struggle to gain weight, and a filled-out chest hides the dip. I build your meals around foods you actually like - no forcing eggs or yogurt down. Eating that lasts.
05
Posture correction
Three movement pattern tests find your specific posture weaknesses, then targeted stretches fix the classic pectus posture pattern. Posture alone changes how the chest reads.
06
Bi-weekly plan revisions
Every two weeks: progress photos reviewed, measurements tracked, plan updated. The protocol is a living document - it changes as you change.
07
WhatsApp + video calls
Direct WhatsApp access for the duration of your programme, questions answered same day. And when text isn't enough, we jump on a video call - vacuum bell positioning, exercise form, anything.
08
Mindset & accountability
I'm not a psychologist, but I've lived this condition. I keep you consistent when motivation dips, and share what actually helped with the daily mental weight of pectus.
09
Full progress documentation
Before/after measurements tracked from day one through completion. Standardised photography protocol so you can see the correction in numbers, not just feelings.
07 / How It Works

Five steps from
subscribe to correction.

One rate: $199 a month, first month covered by the 30-day guarantee, cancel anytime. No call, no application - you start, and I get to work.

Mihail with vacuum bell
01
Start today
You subscribe - $199, covered by the 30-day money-back guarantee. The case intake form is in your inbox before you've closed the tab.
02
Case intake
About 10 minutes: condition, severity, history, photos, goals, what you've tried. Your entire protocol gets built from this. And if a $97 course honestly fits your case better, I tell you in my first reply and refund the month.
03
Protocol written
I write your full correction plan from scratch. Vacuum bell session structure, brace wear schedule, breathing mechanics sequence, exercise pairing - everything built around your specific measurements and case.
04
Equipment fitted & shipped
If the protocol includes physical equipment, it's custom-fitted to your measurements and shipped directly. Setup video call walks you through the first session.
05
Bi-weekly revisions + WhatsApp
Every two weeks: measurement review, progress photos, protocol update. Between check-ins, WhatsApp - same-day answers mean protocol errors get caught in days, not after weeks of wrong application.
08 / A Week Inside Coaching

What you actually do
Monday to Sunday.

A real week once the protocol is running. I'd rather you see the commitment now than discover it in week two.

Mon
Session day
Full bell or brace load, breathing sequence, first training session of the week.
Tue
Session day
Same load. Short WhatsApp check if anything felt off yesterday.
Wed
Check-in
Progress photos and measurements every second Wednesday. I reply with the revision.
Thu
Session day
Full load, second or third training session depending on your phase.
Fri
Session day
Full load. This is usually where form questions land - video call if text is not enough.
Sat
Lighter
Sessions continue, training optional. Nutrition is the focus - the eating week gets reviewed here.
Sun
Reset
Breathing and mobility only. No bell, no brace. Tissue needs the gap to adapt.
Vacuum bell 2-4 sessions a day, 10-30 min each
Brace 8-16 hours a day, phase dependent
Breathing 15-20 min, daily, non-negotiable
Training 3-4 sessions a week, gym or home
Check-in Every 2 weeks, photos + measurements
WhatsApp Open all week, answered same day

Exact hours depend on your case and which phase you're in - a severe excavatum in month one looks nothing like a rib flare in month five. Your schedule gets built around the life you described at intake, not the other way round.

09 / What I need from you

Four things,
and none are optional.

Coaching is not something done to you. I can build the right protocol and still watch it fail if these four don't happen. Read them before you subscribe, not after.

Photos every two weeks
Same light, same spot, same stance, full exhale. Structural change is slow enough that you will not see it in the mirror - you will see it in the photo set. Without them I am revising the plan blind.
The daily sessions, actually done
Cartilage responds to consistent load, not intense load. Four honest sessions beat one heroic one. If the schedule does not fit your life, tell me at intake and I will build one that does.
Tell me when you skip
People go quiet when they fall behind, and that is the worst moment to lose contact. Skipped a week? Say so. I adjust the plan around real life - I cannot adjust around silence.
Twelve weeks, minimum
That is the floor for measurable structural change, and most meaningful correction runs to six months. If you are looking for a four-week result, no protocol on earth delivers it and I would rather say that now.

"Had rib flare since i was a teen. the brace plus the breathing drills changed everything. my waist looks normal in a fitted shirt for the first time in my adult life"

"Mihail doesnt sugarcoat anything. told me exactly what to expect and exactly how long it would take. 12 months in and my carinatum is flat. i finally take my shirt off at the beach"

"spent two years researching surgery before i found this. six months in and i wish id found it sooner. the progress photos dont lie"

"the breathing protocol alone changed how i feel day to day. didnt realise how shallow i was breathing until i fixed it. the rib flare correction kind of followed on its own"

"Was skeptical, id tried everything before. the custom vacuum bell was different to anything id used. three months of consistent use and i can already see the sternum coming up"

"The carinatum brace is really well made. fits perfect to my chest and i can wear it under a t-shirt at work. results started showing around 4 months"

"direct, no nonsense. mihail knows this condition better than any doctor ive seen. my GP was shocked when i showed him my 9 month comparison photos"

"the course structure is exactly what i needed. not overwhelming, not vague. each module builds on the last and you always know what to do next"

"been watching mihails youtube since 2017. finally bought the program in 2023 and kicked myself for waiting. shouldve trusted him years earlier"

"My son is 15 and was getting self-conscious at the pool. The carinatum brace and the fortnightly check-ins are what kept him consistent. Six months and the ridge has visibly dropped."

"what sold me is that every claim links to a study. only place online that treats pectus like an actual training problem instead of selling a miracle"

Before You Start · Straight Answers

What people ask
before they begin.

The four that come up most, answered the same way I would answer them on a call.

Take the 60-second quiz
How long before I see a change? +

Posture and breathing shift first - most people feel that inside the first few weeks. Visible chest change is slower. In the case log above, Milo saw his first real change at 2 months, Ian at 6, Liam at 9. The programs run 16 weeks because that is roughly how long it takes for the training to show up in the mirror.

Am I too old for this to work? +

Almost certainly not. The clients documented on this page were 22 to 32 when they started. Cartilage does stiffen with age, so progress is slower the older you are - but slower is not the same as stopped. What changes is the timeline, not whether it is worth doing.

Do I need a gym, or can I do this at home? +

Either works. Every program ships with a gym track and a no-equipment track for the same 16 weeks, so you pick the one that matches what you actually have access to. You can switch between them mid-program without losing your place.

Pectus excavatum, carinatum, rib flare - is it the same plan? +

No, and that matters. A sunken chest and a protruding chest need close to opposite work, and rib flare often rides along with both. There is a separate program for each. If you are not sure which one you have, the 60-second quiz sorts it out and points you at the right starting place.

11 / Two Paths

Two honest ways to do this.

Both work. They cost different things and they fail in different ways - here is the whole comparison, including the bill.

Look at the third row again. Set yourself up properly with a course and you're at $396-496 - and you still own every decision about suction, hours, positioning and pairing. Coaching is $199 with the equipment fitted, the eBook included, and me making those decisions with you every two weeks. For most people who get this far down the page, coaching is the cheaper mistake to make.

The honest exception: if your case is straightforward, you've had no failed attempts, and you're genuinely self-directed, the PE, PC or rib flare course gets you most of the way for $97. Start there - and if it stalls, coaching is still here.

14 / Questions

Frequently asked.

How many spots do you take on at once? +
2 spots right now. I keep the number small on purpose - bi-weekly revisions and same-day replies don't survive volume. When it hits zero, the checkout closes and a waitlist opens in its place.
What happens right after I pay? +
The case intake form lands in your inbox the moment payment clears - it takes about 10 minutes to fill in. I read it personally within 24 hours and reply on WhatsApp. Your protocol is underway inside 48.
What conditions do you work with? +
Pectus excavatum (all severity levels), pectus carinatum, rib flare, and combinations. Mixed presentations are common and well within what I work with. You'll lay out your full case in the intake right after checkout - or ask me in the chat first if you're unsure.
What does "custom-fitted equipment" mean exactly? +
For vacuum bells: I take your chest measurements (circumference, sternal depression depth, chest width) and build a bell sized specifically for your anatomy. For rib flare braces: built to your rib angle and circumference. You don't pick a size from a chart - it's manufactured for you.
What's the duration of the coaching programme? +
Minimum 12 weeks, typically 6 months for significant structural correction. The programme runs as long as active correction requires. We're not counting weeks - we're tracking measurable progress milestones.
What age range do you work with? +
Adolescents (with parent involvement) through adults. The correction approach differs by age - cartilage plasticity is a real factor - so age is part of the protocol design, not an exclusion criterion.
Do I need to already have equipment, or is it included? +
You don't need anything to start. Once your protocol is designed, we'll determine what equipment (if any) your case requires, and it gets built to your measurements and shipped as part of the programme.
What does a typical week look like? +
Vacuum bell: 2–4 sessions per day of 10–30 minutes each, depending on phase. Brace: 8–16 hours per day. Breathing sequence: 15–20 minutes daily. Exercise protocol: 3–4 sessions per week. This is a real-time commitment - I'm not going to understate it.
I struggle to gain weight. Is nutrition really included? +
Fully. Weight gain is half the visual battle with pectus - a filled-out chest hides the dip. I build your meal plan around foods you actually like and adjust it alongside your training. Can't eat veggies? Hate eggs? We work around it. No generic meal plans.
Can I run the program from a home gym? +
Yes. The workout protocol adapts to whatever you have - a full gym, a home setup with dumbbells and bands, or bodyweight to start. Tell me your setup at intake and the plan gets built around it.
What if I've been doing this for months with no results? +
Plateau navigation is one of the most common reasons people come to coaching. The protocol audit - reviewing what you're doing, how much pressure, suction level, positioning, paired exercises - almost always reveals what's blocking progress. Stagnation usually has a specific cause.
Can adults correct PE without surgery? +
Yes - results vary by severity and starting age, but non-surgical correction in adults is well-documented. I work with adults regularly. The protocol differs from adolescent cases - longer session times, slower initial progression, more emphasis on connective tissue adaptation. It's not a quick process, but it works.
Do you work with very severe pectus excavatum? +
Yes. Severe cases benefit most from the vacuum bell protocol, and I set expectations honestly at intake - severe structural correction takes longer, but visible improvement is absolutely achievable. If your case genuinely needs a surgical consultation, I tell you that too.
Will coaching prepare me for the Nuss procedure if I choose surgery later? +
It can. Stronger chest musculature, better breathing mechanics, and improved posture all make surgery and recovery easier. Some clients improve enough that they cancel the consult - but if you do go ahead, you go in better prepared.
What's the difference between the PE Course and 1-on-1 coaching? +
The PE Course gives you the complete system - protocol, breathing mechanics, exercise sequences, measurement methods. 1-on-1 coaching builds a protocol specifically for your case from scratch, includes custom equipment fitting, bi-weekly plan revisions, and direct WhatsApp access. The course is the self-directed path. Coaching is the fastest, most direct path with no guesswork.
How do I know if I need coaching or if the course is enough? +
The comparison further up covers the honest differences. General indicators: if you're motivated, self-directed, and your case is straightforward, the course + guides usually delivers. If you're dealing with a complex presentation, previous failed attempts, or you want the fastest possible result with direct oversight, coaching is the right level. And there's a safety net: if you start coaching and your intake shows a course fits better, I tell you in my first reply and refund the month.
What's the investment? +
$199 per month, flat. That covers your case assessment, the full custom protocol, bi-weekly plan revisions, direct WhatsApp access, and progress tracking. Custom equipment is fitted and built as part of the programme. No tiers, no hidden extras. Your first month is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee, and you can cancel any month.
What if I want to stop partway through? +
First 30 days: one message gets you a full refund, no questions asked. After that: coaching is month to month, cancel anytime, no lock-in - and you keep everything we built, the protocol, the equipment, the documentation. If we're not making progress or the fit isn't right, we'll have that conversation honestly. I'd rather stop and redirect than keep billing a programme that isn't serving you.

Question we didn't cover? The chat reaches me directly, ask anything about your case before you start.

Mihail Veleski

P.S. $199 a month is less than most people spend guessing - wrong equipment, wrong sizing, months on a protocol that was never going to work. Worst case? One message inside the first 30 days and the month is refunded. And if a course fits your case better, I'll tell you that after your intake and refund you. - Mihail
